The Phoenix Ranch vineyard was planted in 1998 and 1999 with three clones of Syrah, Durrell, Syrah Noir and
Their philosphy is the wine is made in the vineyard. After harvest they split the wine into two lots, 50% small bin and 50% closed top. Small bins allow them to develop deep fruit flavors and the closed top to develop the earth, spice and meat like qualities of Syrah.
It was aged in 20% new French oak for 1 year and than aged an additional year in the bottle. The wines are made at Corison Winery with Cathy overseeing all the winemaking.
