Roar is a family winery specializing in small lots of Santa Lucia Highland 's Pinot Noir. Gary Franscioni’s (Roar proprietor) family has been farming their vineyards for over 100 years.  Their goal is to make small lots of wine that are a pure reflection of the Santa Lucia Highlands and in particular the signature flavors of the vines. The name Roar comes from the sound of the coastal winds and the roar of the mountain creeks that divide the vineyards. 

All of the Roar Wines are made barrel by barrel with minimal handling and maximum attention. Critical timing of fermentation for maximum extraction and balanced tannins is followed by extended rest - up to 16 months - in the finest French barrels.
