Louisa Sawyer Lindquist, owner of Verdad, fell in love with Spanish grape varietals while working in a retail store in
Long Island, New York . After years of working in retail and then for a distribution company in New York she moved to California and started dating Bod Lindquist, owner and winemaker for Qupe. Louisa introduced Bob to the many Spanish varietals she had come to love and in due time they planted a few rows of Albarino and Tempranillo in the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley. Currently Verdad makes small amounts of delicious wines using Spanish grape varietals. Their goal is to make wines which express the true flavors of the varietal and the unique terroir in which they're grown. They are committed to using the highest quality fruit while maintaining organic farming practices.
