Situated on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, in the heart of South Africa's most famous wine region Stellenbosch, our vineyards are commonly referred to as the Home of Chenin Blanc and other premium award-winning wines. Over the years we've created a special brand of hospitality reflected in the list of wines which have been poured at numerous grand events including the opening of the Scottish Parliament and the 85th birthday of our own icon, previous President Nelson Mandela.

Their range of top quality wines has received massive national and international acclaim with literally hundreds of awards and accolades over the last 16 years and are broadly available in well-reputed restaurants and exported to 14 countries around the globe.

Ken started his career in the Hotel industry in 1977 with Southern Sun in the early days of Sol Kerzner. He then went on to specialise in the restaurant trade and later bought a string of restaurants in Johannesburg and Cape Town culminating in being elected Chairman of the Federated Hospitality Association of SA.

In 1993 with a young family, Ken and his wife Teresa set their hearts on a historic vineyard in Stellenbosch. Originally granted to Frederich Boot of Gotha in 1689 as Zandberg. This beautiful farm, complete with historic Cape Dutch homestead built in 1694 had stood vacant and derelict. Teresa took on the daunting task of restoring the house while Ken and good friend and top wine maker Martin Meinert challenged the vineyards motivated to produce a wine that could out rival any white wine in the world!!
