In 1968, they became the first brewery after World War II to produce a junmai-shu (pure sake). They are one of the founding members of the Junsui Nihonshu Kyokai, or “pure sake association”. The brewery is located in a well-known hot spring resort location, a perfect place for sake brewing, with its wonderful water, protected by the magnificent natural environs near Mt. Aso.
