“Manifesto! has taken a sort of Ben & Jerry’s approach to wine-making; we’re about truth in product, truth in advertising.
Henri Gabriel and I founded Manifesto! on the premise that we would identify and work with a handful of growers to produce great wine without charging a whole lot of money. We wanted to make wine that tasted like what’s in the grape, not like something that has passed through the kidneys of a beaver. Too many wines these days have too much wood.
We asked two friends. who are food industry gurus. to help us pioneer Manifesto! and together, as a fearsome foursome, we have introduced America to our food-friendly, environmentally-conscious wine.
In addition to making great wine, we wanted to do something ground-breaking while keeping the fun it. The two web commercials you’ve just screened are indicative of where we’re headed.
BTW: Mark down April, 2009 on your calendar – that’s when we’ll release our first Manifesto! Cabernet Sauvignon from California’s spectacular North Coast. We made it just like the big boys -but when you drink Manifesto! you won’t hear that big sucking sound from your wallet – usually associated with the purchase of high quality California Cab.”
