Master sommelier, Bobby Stuckey and Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson at Boulder, Colo., restaurant Frasca have made their own white wine from the small Friulano region of Italy. Master sommelier Bobby Stuckey and chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson call the wine Scarpetta, the Italian term for the act of wiping up the last of the sauce on one's plate with a piece of bread. These wines is extremely refreshing and bright with floral flavors and beautifully ripe acidity. Whether on its own or along-side dry Italian cheeses, it is a perfect start to any dinner.
