This winery is one of the first ones to bring back the vineyards to the valley, by the hands of an energetic winemaker, Concha Vecino, and an innovative vineyard manager, Jose Manuel Urricelqui. The winery is located in Añorbe, in the
valley of
Valdizarbe , north of Navarra, in the foothills of the
Pyrenees . This is the most northern location of the Navarra vineyard, and the most northern location of the Spanish vineyard with the exception of the Txakoli D.O. Grapes are sourced from the estates of 528 acres located between 1,350-1,500 ft. above sea level, well-oriented and constantly battered by light winds.
Soil composure is fairly rich in clay, low in organic material, with small quantities of sand and chalk. Climate is Atlantic (only 1.5 hours from the
Atlantic Ocean ), with continental and Mediterranean influence. Classified as dry, sub-humid, with average rains of 593mm per year and an average temperature of 55°F.
