La Morandina takes its name from the Morando family, who has been in the area since 1580. Even after many years, La Morandina has preserved the original structure including an oven used for cooking the bread and the ancient cellar. They maintain quality at this estate by ensuring their ecologically compatible politics, such as the use of natural fertilizers and of biodynamic techniques against parasites and mildews. The estate now spreads over 21 hectares of vineyards resting over soft hills in the heart of the most prestigious production areas: Castiglione T. for the Moscato, Montegrosso e Costigliole d'Asti for the Barbera, and a last vineyards for Nebbiolo (Barbaresco) in the small town of Neive.
