The estate has belonged to the Grimaldi family since 1930, but Ferruccio Grimaldi, who now manages the estate, started vinfying the grapes of "Le Coste", an historical cru of Barolo, in 1996. Besides Barolo "Le Coste", Ferruccio makes a Dolcetto d'Alba, two Barbera, a Nebbiolo d'Alba and Barolo "Sotto Castello di Novello" started being produced with the 1996 vintage. These wines are now appreciated worldwide.
