Grapes for the 2009 Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir were harvested between September 15th and 21st at 26.5 brix and spent an average of 20 days on the skins before being pressed to French oak barrels for 11 months aging. The wine was racked once and bottled unfiltered and unfined on September 1, 2010.
Dense ruby color with complex nose of French oak, plums, blueberries and charcoal. Chewy tannins surround the tightly wound ripe fruits on the palate, and with a good aeration some ripe berry flavors emerge. The finish is extremely long, predicting many years before this wine is at its peak.
