Mr. Riggs Shiraz is a blend of three great Shiraz vineyards; ‘Breakneck Creek’ and ‘Penny’s Hill’, (across the road from each other) from the central foothills near the Eastern boundary of the district, and ‘Quandong Farm’, which is situated in the central Seaview subregion. The vineyards are owned/ managed by three of the best-known McLaren Vale growers, namely Ian Leask (Breakneck Creek), David Paxton (Quandong Farm) and Tony Parkinson (Penny’s Hill).

Dec 2009
"The 2008 Shiraz has a lovely, expressive nose of pain grille, Asian spices, pepper, game, violets, incense and blueberry. On the palate it is dense, layered, and has plenty of ripe, fine grained tannin leading to a fruit-filled finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and offering a drinking window extending through 2023."
